He calls Dunki the film of a lifetime, calling it ‘breaks all records’

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra says working on Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming feature film Dhanki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was a privilege to work on a project that will be remembered for years to come. He says it was an incredible experience.

This social comedy-drama marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, known for their critically acclaimed blockbusters like Sanju, PK, 3 Idiots and Munna His Bhai series. It will be a work of art. Dhanki is being touted as a “big travel movie” about people who want to return to their homeland of India.

Mukesh Chhabra, who will next be seen in Sony LIV musical thriller ‘Chamak’, spoke about the cast of ‘Danki’ and said that the film will be ‘a memorable film of 2018’ Next 10 years. ”

“Raju Hirani is a whole film school and working with him is like a film institute. Working with this guy allows you to learn every aspect of filmmaking. I was responsible for all his ads, ‘PK’ and ‘Sanju’, so I spent a lot of time on them. This guy eats, breathes, and sleeps movies, so casting doesn’t happen in a month, it takes two years.

“When I read Danki’s script, I was shocked. If you liked 3 Idiots, he would be 100 times better. I cried every time I read the script. “All the time,” he said of the film, which opens in theaters Dec. 21.

Mr. Chhabra feels lucky to work with a “very talented” manufacturer like Mr. Hirani, he said. The casting director said that Dhanki will remind people of the timeless simplicity of Indian classics.

“This movie will break all records. This is the purest form of filmmaking as we remember the films of Anand, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Do Aanken Bala Haas. Likewise, you’ll be talking about Dunki for years to come. I’m serious. Every part of my heart feels this,” he added.

Mukesh Chhabra, who made a special appearance in Jawan, will be seen in the Sony LIV series Chamak. The show tells the story of Kara, a young aspiring rapper who returns to Punjab from Canada and learns of the death of legendary singer Taara Singh, who was shot dead during a packed performance.
