WHO IS AN ENTREPRENEUR? In the words of Fatemeh Sanaei, a successful Iranian entrepreneur

In an interview with the ………… magazine, when discussing the subject of entrepreneurship and entrepreneur, Fatemeh Sanaei, an elite Iranian entrepreneur mentioned that:

The word entrepreneur dates back to about three hundred years ago, and economists were the first to consider the word “entrepreneur” and the concept of entrepreneurship.

People like Richard Cantillon and Adam Smith have used the word entrepreneur in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

The history of entrepreneurship dates back to a century ago

Though some people have been called entrepreneurs from about three hundred years ago, the term “entrepreneurship” as we understand it (and as it is regarded in disciplines such as entrepreneurship management) has only become popular for about a century.

Fatemeh Sanaei added:

In other words, to consider entrepreneurship a science and that some people in universities are experts in the field of entrepreneurship, or for people to choose a path between being employed and entrepreneurship, and that this choice is acknowledged a serious question in selecting a career path, is a relatively new phenomenon from the last century.
