Bollywood actor Sunny Deol became emotional during a masterclass at the ongoing 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. At IFFI 2023, Sunny spoke about his film career and recalled how there was no work for many years after the release of Gadar. The actor was accompanied by directors Anil Sharma, Rajkumar Santoshi and Rahul Rawail.
When Rahul asked Sunny Deol about her journey in Bollywood, which started with Betab in 1983, the actor replied, “I have always loved Sunny Deol. My problem is that I’m just too emotional. ”
“I was very lucky. I started with Rahul. He gave me three beautiful movies. Some things worked, some things didn’t. But to this day people remember these movies. I’m standing here because of my movie. ‘Gadar’ was a huge success but I was not given the subject or the script and nothing happened and that’s when my period of struggle began. I made a few films during that time, but there was a 20-year gap. But I didn’t give up. We have always moved forward. I joined films because I wanted to be an actor, not a star. “I was watching my father’s films and wanted to make films like that,” the actor was quoted as saying.
In addition to this, Mr. Rajkumar Santoshi said: “I feel like the industry is not giving due recognition to Sunny’s talent. But God created justice.” Hearing the director’s words, Sunny Duru’s eyes filled with tears.
Meanwhile, Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol will be reunited after 27 years in 1947 Lahore, produced by Aamir Khan. The actor-director duo has worked together in blockbuster films like ‘Ghayal’ (1990), ‘Damini’ (1993) and ‘Ghatak: Lethal’ (1996).
Sunny recently made a stunning comeback with Gadaar 2 and has once again become a star in Bollywood with a number of high-profile films in her kitty.
