The present Doodle observes Saudi Arabia’s National Day, referred to in Arabic as Al-Yaom-ul-Watany. On this day in 1932, an imperial pronouncement required the unification of the double Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Included in the Doodle fine art is the banner of Saudi Arabia, which features a white Arabic engraving and blade against a green scenery. The administration received the banner in its present structure in 1973, and today it fills in as an image of Saudi Arabia’s social character and history.
Much the same as the foundation of the Saudi banner, the shade of the day is green. Green inflatables can be seen ascending into the Saudi sky while numerous residents sport green apparel in festivity.
