Rapper Saba West Builds A Buzz Around His Name

Saba West is an upcoming R&B and Hip Hop artist, born in Urbana, Illinois that got his start from producing in 2017. At the age of 13, during his time in middle school, he began writing songs and battle rapping his classmates. By the time he was in high school, he was producing his own original material and began singing, joining his high school’s choir. Weeks before his early graduation in 2018, West, then known as J-Dub, released “Ethiopia”. The single garnered a lot of attention to the young artist from the East African demographic and this praise pushed him to fully invest in launching a music career.

Since his graduation from high school, Saba West released “Ethiopia II,’ succeeding “Ethiopia,” and various singles. On May 17, 2019, Saba West released his first EP titled “Habesha – EP” on all major streaming platforms. He dedicated this EP to the East African demographic that supported him the year before after the release of “Ethiopia”. The four-song EP included “Sometimes,” “Any Time,” “Before Ethiopia,” and “Addis Ababa”. Saba West states on the cover “SHOUT OUT MY EAST AFRICAN FANS! I LOVE Y’ALL! THANKS SO MUCH!”
