Opinion | Why Kartik Aaryan Needs ‘Shehzada,’

The second significant Bollywood release of 2023 will be the upcoming action comedy Shehzada by Rohit Dhawan. The industry has been revitalised by the extraordinary success of Siddharth Anand’s action movie Pathaan, the first big release of the year. Few would claim that Shehzada can replicate Pathaan’s performance—records aren’t changed every day—but the eagerly anticipated movie ought to have a strong opening weekend. The presence of Kartik Aaryan in the lead part is the primary driver of this expectation.

Shehzada has 145 minutes to live up to its promise of providing entertainment that is larger-than-life. If that occurs and the movie becomes a box office success, everyone connected to it will profit. The biggest beneficiary will be Aaryan, since the film’s plot revolves around his character of a young man with wealthy parents who gets switched at birth and grows up in a middle-class household.

In a short period of time, Aaryan has gained the love of many moviegoers. Some of them will view Shehzada without awaiting opinions from others and initially boost the film’s box office results. However, the film must appeal to these viewers because their feedback will play a key role in determining whether or not it will become a long-distance runner at the ticket counters.

Aaryan’s ability to pull off the role of a singing-dancing hero who can be riotously humorous and thrash his opponents in gravity-defying action sequences will also be determined by Shehzada’s performance. The young actor is undoubtedly talented, but it is unknown how well he will do in his new role.
