Nicolas Cage to host ‘History of Swear Words’ series on Netflix

Nicolas Cage will have “History of Swear Words,” a gladly profane series about swearwords for Netflix in January.

The six-scene arrangement will jump into the starting points, mainstream society use, science and social effect of swear words, for example, “fuck,” “shit,” “bitch,” “dick,” “pussy” and “damn.” In every 20-minute scene, Cage will lead interviews with antiquarians, performers and specialists in historical underpinnings and mainstream society.

Visitor stars on “History of Swear Words” will incorporate jokesters like Joel Kim Booster, DeRay Davis, Open Mike Eagle, Nikki Glaser, Patti Harrison, London Hughes, Jim Jefferies, Zainab Johnson, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Baron Vaughn, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

The arrangement is delivered by Funny or Die and B17 Entertainment, and Bellamie Blackstone fills in as the showrunner and a chief maker. Individual EPs incorporate Mike Farah, Joe Farrell and Beth Belew for Funny Or Die and Brien Meagher and Rhett Bachner for B17 Entertainment.

The arrangement denotes Cage’s most recent raid into TV. In May, Variety solely detailed that the entertainer would play Joe Exotic, the notorious and detained tiger proprietor in Netflix’s “Tiger King,” in a forthcoming scripted arrangement. Known for his broad film history, the Joe Exotic job will be Cage’s first normal TV job.

In 2020, Cage showed up in the science fiction hand to hand fighting film “Jiu Jiutsu” and loaned his voice to the enlivened spin-off “The Croods: A New Age,” wherein he repeated his part of family patriarch Grug Crood. One of Cage’s next movies is a meta activity satire named “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” where he will play a fictionalized rendition of himself to spare his family from an insane super fan.

“The History of Swear Words” will debut on Netflix on Jan. 5.
