The Galaxy L6 EM-i plug-in hybrid car, which starts at RMB 82,800 ($11,330) after incentives, has been formally introduced by Geely in China. It has a 1.5L engine (82 kW/110 hp) and an electric motor (160 kW/215 hp) powered by the Leishen EM-i hybrid system. The sedan is positioned as a competitor to the BYD Qin L DM-i and has a length of 4,782 mm. Until March 31, all five varieties are discounted by RMB 3,000.
Release Date
On January 17, pre-sales of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i began in China, with prices ranging from 89,800 to 116,800 yuan (12,285 to 15,980 USD). The Geely sedan went on sale in China on January 12 for a starting price of 82,800 yuan, or 11,330 USD.

There is a smaller 8.5 battery pack available for the first two of them. Without discounts, their prices fall between 82,800 and 92,800 yuan (11,330 and 12,695 USD). Their price drops to 79,800 to 89,800 yuan (10,920 to 12,285 USD) when the limited discounts are applied. Keyless entry, six speakers, OTA updates, map navigation, AI voice assistant, 4G network, and in-car WiFi are among the standard setups.

It is equipped with the fuel-efficient Leishen EM-i hybrid system, which was introduced on October 30 of last year and is Geely’s answer to BYD’s DM-i system.
Battery Ranges
Lithium iron phosphate battery packs with two different capacities (8.5 kWh and 19.09 kWh) and ranges of 60 and 140 kilometres, respectively, power the model.
Fast DC charging is supported by the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i’s higher trim levels. This sedan’s battery needs 20 minutes to fully charge from 30% to 80%.
Its engine can produce up to 82 kW of power and 136 Nm of torque at its peak. The electric motor’s maximum power and torque are 160 kW and 262 Nm, respectively.
Geely Auto introduced the Galaxy line of products on February 23, 2023, with the goal of catering to the general market for plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles.
Competitor
The primary rival of the Galaxy L6 EM-i is the Qin L DM-i, a BYD model that debuted in May 2024 and makes use of the most recent BYD DM 5.0 hybrid technology.
Additionally, there are five different models of the Qin L DM-i available, ranging in price from RMB 99,800 to RMB 139,800. BYD released the Smart Driving Edition updates for 21 vehicles, including the Qin L, on February 10 for the same pricing.

The original Galaxy L6 sedan, which debuted in September 2023, has been updated with the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i. Retractable door handles have been replaced with conventional ones in the updated vehicle. The Samsung Galaxy L6 EM-i has dimensions of 4782/1875/1489 mm and a wheelbase of 2752 mm. It is 122 mm longer than the Toyota Corolla car, for the record. But the Galaxy L6 EM-i is 78 mm shorter than the BYD Qin L DM-i, its primary competitor.
