The present Doodle observes Singapore’s National Day and 55 years of independence for the Southeast Asian country. On this day in 1965, two years after its assertion of power from Britain, Singapore finished a brief association with Malaysia and turned into a completely free country.
Portrayed in the Doodle fine art is a noticeable image of Singapore’s statehood and personality: the nation’s national banner. The banner was planned in 1959 yet wasn’t formally received until the country’s authentic freedom six years after the fact. It highlights two flat stripes in Singapore’s national shades of red and white, which separately represent all inclusive fairness and righteousness.
In the banner’s upper crane corner sits a bow moon and five stars. The moon, in the beginning phases of its lunar cycle, speaks to the advancement of the incipient Singapore, and the five stars that it supports represent majority rules system, harmony, progress, equity, and fairness.
