Aubrey Hill: FIU assistant coach, dies at 48 after battle with cancer

Hill, a previous Gator recipient was entering his fourth year as the wide collectors coach for FIU

Florida International wide recipients mentor Aubrey Hill has died at 48 years of age. In spite of the fact that at first the reason for death wasn’t uncovered, an announcement from FIU mentor Butch Davis noticed that Hill had been secretly doing combating malignant growth.

“It was a shock to learn of Aubrey’s passing tonight after his long battle with cancer,” Davis said. “Aubrey was loved and adored by so many who saw him not only as a coach, but as an amazing husband and father. We mourn his loss, but we will also hold on to the great memories he left behind and how honored we all were to be a part of his life. We pray for his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Hill was entering his fourth season as a right hand for the Golden Panthers. Beforehand, he had filled in as an associate at Marshall, Miami and his institute of matriculation, Florida, among different stops. A Miami local, Hill was a champion player at Florida from 1991-94. He was a piece of three SEC title groups under amazing mentor Steve Spurrier and added up to 18 scores in his profession. He at that point came back to the Gators as an alumni right hand under Spurrier from 1996-98 preceding proceeding onward to Duke for his first full-time partner training work.
